Gwryd Bach has been in our family for generations, how many exactly, we've honestly lost count. What we do know is that this farmhouse has stood in the hamlet of Rhodiad y Brenin for centuries, and that looking after it properly matters to us deeply.

The house itself is something special. Described as a classic example of a sub-medieval North Pembrokeshire farmhouse, it has a 16th or 17th-century core, a distinctive round chimney, a rubble-stone exterior, grouted slate roof and a very large timber-lintel fireplace that has been the heart of this home for hundreds of years. It was largely rebuilt in the late 19th century but the bones of it, and the character, remain very much intact.

We live locally, which means when you stay at Gwryd Bach you're not booking through a faceless agency. You're supporting a local Welsh family, a working piece of Pembrokeshire's history, and a corner of Wales that we genuinely love. We want every guest to leave feeling like they've had a proper Pembrokeshire experience... not just a holiday, but a real sense of this place.

Kitchen, Dining Room & Living Room

Step straight into the kitchen and you'll immediately get a sense of what Gwryd Bach is about. A warming Rayburn sits in an inglenook-style fireplace, open beams run overhead and there's a breakfast table for the early risers. It's the kind of kitchen you actually want to spend time in.

A few stone steps up and you're in the dining room, big enough for everyone around the farmhouse table, whether that's a proper family meal or a long evening of cards and board games.

The sitting room has an open fire for cooler evenings, and the snug, with patio doors opening straight out to the garden — is perfect for quieter moments or the kids having their own space. Between the two there's always somewhere comfortable to settle.

Gwryd Bach comes fully equipped so you can arrive and get straight into holiday mode — bed linen and towels are included, the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook for a crowd, there's a BBQ and outdoor furniture for summer evenings in the enclosed garden, travel cots and highchairs for little ones, an open fire with starter pack for cooler nights, WiFi and parking for five cars on the drive
